Hiking Reviews

Rated 5 stars on Google

My husband and I had an epic day hiking Pedley Pass with Chris! I was a bit nervous leading up to the trailhead, and appreciated being checked in on. We felt super safe on the trail and definitely jived with Chris’ sense of humour. He really gave us confidence on the trail and made it a memorable day! We’ll for sure be booking a guided hike with Chris again in the future.

Things to know about

Hiking in The Canadian Rockies

Planning a hike in the Canadian Rockies? Here's what you need to know before hitting the trail. The Canadian Rocky Mountains are world-renowned for their rugged mountain terrain, glacial turquoise lakes, gushing waterfalls, and wildlife-rich backcountry, offering some of the most unforgettable hiking experiences in North America.

  • Weather in the Rockies can change rapidly. Be prepared for everything from sunshine to sudden snow or rain, even in summer. Before our hikes, we check trail reports for up-to-date conditions, closures, and bear activity.

  • This is bear country, and hikers should always be prepared. In our safety briefing, we will teach you how to carry bear spray, how to use it, and we always travel in groups. It's also home to cougars, elk, and mountain goats. Be sure to give all wildlife plenty of space.

  • Many hikes involve significant elevation gain and rocky, uneven terrain. Make sure you're physically prepared, wear proper footwear, and bring trekking poles for added stability. For our backpacking adventures, we'll set you up with a training plan to ensure you're prepared for the challenge. We've also got hiking poles ready for you, if needed!

  • Overnight camping permits and park passes are required for backcountry hiking in Banff National Park and Kootenay National Park. We've got that covered! All you need to do is respect all park rules and follow Leave No Trace principles to protect these fragile alpine environments.
