Hiking Guide Chris Skinner

Playwest Owner & ACMG Hiking Guide

Chris Skinner

Chris moved to the Canadian Rockies in the mid 90’s searching for fresh snow and incredible adventures. He landed in the quaint mountain town of Invermere, British Columbia. Chris quickly took up hiking, backpacking and backcountry skiing in the Canadian Rockies and Columbia Mountains.

Chris is an outdoor enthusiast who has been adventuring around the Invermere area for nearly 20 years. He is a proud member of the ACMG and the Interpretive Guides Association. Chris has been working as a guide for several years, guiding seven-day backpacking trips on the famous West Coast Trail and has guided many day trips in the Columbia Valley. In the winter months you can still find Chris in the mountains working as an Avalanche Technician at Panorama Mountain Resort. There is a deep-seated passion for exploring the mountains and learning what they have to offer. His love for the mountains and sharing experiences in them is infectious and is his main priority.

Hiking guide Ryan Bavin

ACMG Hiking Guide (Glass blowing master)

Ryan BAvin

Ryan grew up in the Columbia Valley in and around Invermere, his family having moved to the area in 1921. Spending as much time as possible outdoors has always been a part of Ryan’s life, anytime of the year. After many years of enjoying the backcountry recreationally, Ryan took his first guiding course in 2009 with the ACMG and now spends about 50 days per summer guiding hikes in the mountains near his home. When Ryan’s not guiding, he is creating breathtaking art. A professional glass blower and an incredibly talented photographer, Ryan brings a ton of creativity to the day!
